No Trophy joy for Ingol Rangers
Ingol Rangers (blue) v Blackhurst Budd - LFA Sunday Trophy

Ingol Rangers crashed out of the LFA Sunday Trophy when they were beaten 4-2 by Blackhurst Budd (Blackpool) at the UCLan Sports Arena which means that for the first time in many years this League has no representative in the semi-finals of the premier Sunday competition in the County.
And it could have been so different had Ingol Rangers taken their chances and avoided a mad five minutes when they conceded three goals. Both Ingol Rangers and Blackhurst Budd are rightly considered amongst the premier Sunday sides in Lancashire and both have a rich pedigree in this competition and in their domestic leagues.
The game kicked off with Blackhurst on the front foot and they looked a strong and efficient outfit as they pitched camp in the Ingol half. Gradually Ingol got to grips with the game and they took the lead with a well worked goal in the 32nd minute converted by the dangerous Ryan McKenna. They nearly doubled their lead four minutes later when an effort by Adam Stammers rattled the cross bar and another chance went begging in the closing stages of the half which lead their supporters to believe that the game was there for the taking.
A cruel five minutes early in the second half put paid to that. Blackhurst striker Ben Seear brought his side level with an uncontested header on 48 minutes and the same player was on hand on 50 minutes to head them into the lead. Worse was to follow a minute later when Tarren Moxon hit a pile driver which would have beaten any keeper and suddenly the Blackpool lads were 3-1 in front. Ingol’s Ryan McKenna hit the post on 69 minutes before Kevin Friend made it 4-1 on 73 minutes and Reece Barrett completed the scoring with Ingol’s second two minutes from time.
A bitterly disappointed Ingol Rangers Manager Dean Crossen said, “That was a real sickener, we had control of the game until we switched off for five minutes and they punished us with three goals. OK, we hit the woodwork twice, but goals win games and they took their chances”.
