Division 1 leaders Bolton Lads & Girls Club powered into the Syndicate Trust Challenge Cup semi-finals with a 3-1 victory at home to premier division Tanterton. The Bolton lads found themselves a goal down after 20 minutes but Tanterton’s caused was not helped when they were reduced to 10 men on the half hour mark. Jay Ralphson leveled the scores from the spot on 34 minutes and second half goals from Matt Woods and Jake O’Brien saw the Bolton team into the semi-final hat.
They will be joined there by Acregate Lane LC who ran out 7-2 winners against Vernon Sports from the second division. An even game for the first 22 minutes until the deadlock was broken by Paul Turner who put Acregate ahead from the penalty spot and Turner went on to complete a first half hat trick with strikes in the 34th & 45th minutes, interrupted only by Charlie Egan’s goal on 44 minutes to give Acregate a 4-0 half time lead. Second half goals from Egan, Ryan Cromie and Aleks Drabik completed the Acregate scoring with Carl Busby and David Cookson replying for Vernons.
Premier division leaders Hunters will have their eye on the double after they beat AFC Ingol 3-1 at London Road. Andrew Richards, Andrew Naylor and Adam Thomas bagged the Hunters goals whilst Riccardo Egidi replied for AFC Ingol.
Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs continue to steamroller their way through division and this morning it was Wyresdale Rangers who found themselves on the wrong end of a 10-0 scoreline. Jordan Middleton (3), Chris Bates (2), Dan Boden (2), Ben Edwards (2) and Kristian Solaru scored the Southport goals. Walton Athletic beat Tulketh United 5-2 at Higher Walton, a result which puts them just one point behind their opponents. Rob Hand and Neil Byrne each scored two with Pete Williams getting the other, Aamir Toorawa and Ryan Kay scored for Tulketh.
Jack Mountain scored five in Gregson Lane Wanderers 8-1 home win against Leyland Orient in division 2 with Jamal John and Alex Grice completed the Wanderers scoring. Fulwood Park Rangers and Gregson Lane drew 1-1 as did division 2 leaders Arkwrights who were held 1-1 by Walton. Goals from Michael Tracey, Jordan Daniel plus an OG gave division 3 leaders Sir Tom Finney a 3-0 win against Kingsfold in a match played at Moor Park.
Burscough Dynamo beat Southport 5-0 in youth division red with goals from Colin Bousique-Green, Jacob Blundell and a hat trick from Matthew Ingram. Two goals from Freddie Stevens were not enough to prevent Bolton County losing 3-2 to AFC Fylde (the AFC Fylde scorers were not available). The only game played in youth division white saw leaders Foxhall extend their lead with a 4-0 home win against Eccleston & Heskin with goals from Charlie Allan, Ben Bradley (2) and Steven Hodgkinson.
