More problems caused by the Weather
If it’s not the rain from Spain, it’s the Beast from the East or even Emma sticking her oar in. Whatever, we lost another 30+ fixtures today which will further add to the headaches of Mark Moore our Fixtures Manager.
At this time of the year there is intense pressure to get our cup games played so at least BAE Warton eased the burden by playing their Syndicate Trust Youth Cup quarter-final against Lostock St Gerards and winning comprehensively 12-0. The other scheduled quarter-final Winstanley Warriors v Padiham was postponed and it is imperative that we get this game played next week to meet the semi-final date of Sunday 18 March.
All three Syndicate Trust Youth Trophy 2nd round games were postponed and will be played next Sunday to meet the quarter-final date of 18 March and the semi-finals on Sunday 25 March. Talk about pressure for clubs and the League alike.
Acregate Lane LC and Ingol Rangers took the initiative to play their premier division game on the 3G pitch at UCLan Sports Arena with a 10.30am kick off to meet booking deadlines. The facilities at UCLan Arena are excellent and they have been further enhanced by this 3G pitch which is the finest that I have seen. Acregate took an early lead through Paul Turner who bagged his 29th goal of the season, however Ingol recovered in style to run out 5-1 winners with goals from Adam Stammers (2), Jonty McDonald, Zac Deaves and Reece Barrett and these two clubs meet again next Sunday in the semi-finals of the Syndicate Trust Challenge Cup.
Walton reduced the gap between themselves and Arkwrights in division 2 to 4 points and they have 3 games in hand after beating Leyland Orient 6-0 this morning with goals from Tom Butler, Joe Entwistle, Dean Kellett, Alistair Palmer (2) and Matt Moss.
A Lucas Bradley goal was enough to give Fleetwood Town Rangers the points in their Youth Division White home game against Garstang and a brace from Adam Fairclough was enough for Winstanley Warriors Reds to win 2-0 at Wyre Villa whilst in Youth Division Blue Euxton Villa beat Penwortham Town 10-0 and the Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs v Penwortham St Teresas clash finished 2-2.
