The top two teams in both divisions 1 and 2 met this morning in clashes of immense significance to the destination of the title in these divisions.
Division 1 leaders Bolton Lads & Girls Club had lead the division for most of the season, they had played 12 games before today winning 10, one draw and one defeat. Their opponents Southport & AA had played 11 league games with nine wins and two draws. The spoils this morning went to the Southport lads who won 5-1 with goals from Daniel Boden (2), Kevin Edgar and Jordan Middleton with Keane Mills replying for Bolton L&GC. Southport & AA now lead the table, but these two excellent clubs have set division 1 alight this season. Third placed Tulketh United lost at home to Whittle Wanderers, Walton Athletic won 1-0 at Wyresdale Rangers and AFC Longridge won 4-0 at Worden Rangers.
Arkwrights and Walton met at Corpus Christi in the top of the table clash in division 2 and it ended all square 0-0, which means Arkwrights still lead the able with 28 points from 14 games whilst Walton have 24 points from 11 games. Gregson Lane Wanderers beat Fulwood Park Rangers 6-2 and Earnshaw Bridge won 3-1 at Leyland Orient. Leyland Athletic won 4-0 at Ribbleton Wanderers in division 3, Lostock Hall beat Bamber Bridge Town 4-3, BAE Warton won 6-2 at Waverley Park and Kingsfold and Tarleton Corinthians drew 2-2 in an entertaining game at Worden Park.
Only a disaster can prevent Hunters from retaining their league title and they emphasised their strength with an 8-0 win at Ashton on Ribble, second placed Ingol Rangers won 3-1 at Bamber Bridge United, AFC Ingol in third spot beat Springfields 2-1, Acregate Lane won 6-2 at Tanterton and Theatre Boys beat Ashton Villa 2-1.
In the quarter-final games in the Syndicate Trust Youth Trophy, Bolton County beat Penwortham St Teresas 3-2, Coppull United beat Wyre Villa 5-0 and Fleetwood Town Rangers won 3-0 at Leyland BTR. We are hoping to play the semi-finals at Fulwood Amateurs FC on Sunday 08 April, clubs will be notified shortly.
Lostock St Gerards beat Haslingden St Marys 2-0 in youth division red, BAE Warton beat Garstang 9-0 in youth division white whilst in youth division blue Tarleton Corinthians beat Euxton Villa 3-0 and Lancon and Penwortham Town played each other twice in back-to-back fixtures with Lancon winning one game 1-0 and Penwortham Town winning the other also 1-0.

The Lancashire Sunday League encourages all referees to become members of the Referees Association and it is League policy to give priority of appointments to those referees who are an RA member.
Preston Referees Society is based at BAC Club, South Meadow Lane, Preston PR1 8JP, they meet on the first Monday of each month during the football season and everyone is welcome to attend their meetings. The meetings start at 7.30pm and usually finish around 9.00pm.

: The Society provides physical training for its members at UCLan Sports Arena Training every Monday evening between 6.30-7.30pm except on Society Monthly Meeting nights when it will be brought forward to 6.00-7.00pm.
