Three of our youth sides were in action this morning playing for a place in the semi-finals of the LFA U18s Youth Cup. Padiham (Youth Division Red) entertained BAE Warton (Youth Division Blue) and BAE took the lead in the 10th minute through their prolific scorer Matt Van Wyk. James Devlin got Padiham’s equaliser on 35 minutes and the game ended 1-1 with BAE Warton winning the penalty shoot out 5-4.
Cadley (Youth Division White) who joined the league this season have a 100% record in the league and they faced Southport U18s (Academy side) at Edge Hill University. Southport took an early lead which was cancelled out when Luke Wilson scored for Cadley and this game also ended 1-1 with Southport winning the 5-4 on penalties.
The remaining first round Syndicate Trust Youth Trophy tie saw Haslingden St Marys (Youth Red) beat AC Preston (Youth Blue) 7-1 at Preston’s College and they will face Penwortham St Teresas at home in the second round on 9th December.
