Hunters & Ingol Rangers faced New Albert FC, leaders of the Blackpool Sunday League in the fourth round of the LFA Sunday Trophy and they emerged 5-0 winners. Adam Stammers put them ahead from the penalty spot after 30 minutes, James Dean made it 2-0 on the hour mark, Reece Fishwick added a third after 65 minutes and Sam Farrow made it 4-0 three minutes later. It was left to Adam Stammers to wrap up the scoring with his second and H & IR’s fifth after 73 minutes and see Dixie Dawson’s team into the quarter-finals of the competition.

Sir Tom Finney FC’s reward for beating the Trophy holders Crown Paints FC in the third round was a game against another Blackburn Sunday League side Blackburn Eagles in today’s fourth round tie. The game on pitch 6 of the UCLan Sports Arena started in a frenetic manner with the Eagles having two players cautioned in the first nine minutes for fouls on Finney’s Graham Lyons. However, Lyons was not cowed by the experience and he was on hand to convert Jake Turners cross in the 17th minutes to give his side a one goal lead.

The early exchanges had Finney’s well on top, but their wings were clipped on 37 minutes when Matty Bullcock netted an equaliser for the Eagles. The second half was much more even with the Blackburn side pressing hard and they looked dangerous on the break. With the scores level on 90 minutes it went to the dreaded penalty shootout which Blackburn Eagles emerged winners by 4-3.

AFC Ingol were also playing another Blackburn Sunday League side Poppy Mai in the fourth round and they were beaten 2-1. An indifferent first half saw AFC 2-0 down at half time, rallied in the second half and pulled one back through Sam Braithwaite but it was just not enough.

Warton and Worden Rangers finally managed to get their outstanding LFA third round game with Worden Rangers winning 2-1and they will travel to Wythenshawe Amateurs in the fourth round on Sunday 1 December. Tom Beardsworth and Dalian Christopher scored for Worden with Ashley Donald replying for Warton.
