Arkwrights claim the Division 3 Title
Arkwrights FC - Champions of Division 3
Arkwrights wrapped up their maiden season in the League with a 4-1 win at Bamber Bridge Town which confirmed them as division 3 champions. Andrew Danson, Chris Darwen, Jon Wallace and Mark Taylor scored for Arkwrights and this quartet has netted 60 league goals for the club this season with Taylor bagging 30 of them. Anthony Knowles scored for Bamber Bridge. Earnshaw Bridge beat BAE Warton 4-0 to finish in 3rd place and these games completed the division 3 fixtures for the season.
Acregate Lane LC beat New Farington House 3-1, their sixth success on the trot to finish their season as runners up in the premier division and New Longton Rovers beat AFC Ingol 2-0. A David Hankin hat trick secured the points for Vernons in their 3-2 win over AFC Longridge in division 1 where Worden Rangers beat Preston Victoria 3-2 and Frenchwood won 4-1 away at Wyresdale Rangers.
Bolton Lads & Girls Club kept up the pressure at the top of division 2 with a 3-0 win at Leyland Orient with Matt Cain netting a hat trick, meanwhile second placed Tulketh United won 2-0 at Whittle Wanderers and Penwortham Town beat Ribbleton Wanderers 3-0.
Haslingden St Marys and Clitheroe settled for a 1-1 draw in youth division red, Southport who lead youth division white had a comfortable 5-1 home win against Lostock Hall SC, second placed Coppull United beat Tarleton Corinthians 6-3, Croston and Burscough Dynamos drew 1-1 whilst Eccleston & Heskin and Walmer Bridge drew 3-3. Three back-to-back fixtures were played in youth division red today where AFC Fylde beat Penwortham St Teresa’s 4-0 in both games, Poulton beat Chipping 4-3 in the first game and drew the second 1-1 and finally Thornton Cleveleys beat Lancon 4-1 and then 4-0 in the second game.

The Lancashire Sunday League encourages all referees to become members of the Referees Association and it is League policy to give priority of appointments to those referees who are an RA member.
Preston Referees Society is based at BAC Club, South Meadow Lane, Preston PR1 8JP, they meet on the first Monday of each month during the football season and everyone is welcome to attend their meetings. The meetings start at 7.30pm and usually finish around 9.00pm.
Anyone interested in joining Preston Referees Society or has any queries about refereeing should contact the Society Secretary Shaun Taylor here.
: The Society provides physical training for its members at UCLan Sports Arena Training every Monday evening between 6.30-7.30pm except on Society Monthly Meeting nights when it will be brought forward to 6.00-7.00pm.
