Acregate Lane LC are setting the early pace in the premier division with four wins and a draw from their first five games and they sit top of the table after today’s 2-1 home win against Springfields. Bailey Barbour and Owen Thompson were on target for Acregate with Stephen Dickinson replying for Springfields. Newly promoted Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs picked up their first win in their second game winning 3-2 at AFC Ingol, Bamber Bridge United beat Ashton on Ribble 3-2 and Tanterton are up to third after beating Ribbleton 6-1.

The Syndicate Trust Challenge Cup first round games kicked off in miserable weather, so we can assume that the summer is over. Some of our new clubs picked up excellent results with Park United (div 3) making the trip from Bolton to Wyresdale Rangers (div 1) and collecting a 6-3 win with goals from Danny Kidd (3), Charlie Helsby (2) and Jordan Millward. AC Preston beat Gregson Lane 4-1 and Blackpool Town won 5-2 at Kingsfold.

Penwortham Town had an excellent 3-1 win at home to Arkwrights, Ribbleton Wanderers beat Midgery Court 9-2 at Moor Park with Rick Atkinson bagging four, Fulwood Park Rangers (div 2) beat AFC Longridge (div 1) 5-3 and Fishwick Rangers beat Ribble 5-3. Earnshaw Bridge beat Sir Tom Finney 4-3 and Leyland Orient won 5-2 away at Bamber Bridge Town.

Liam Taylor netted three for Tarleton Corinthians as they won 6-2 at Leyland BTR, Lostock Hall won 5-1 at Tarleton Whites, James Jemson netted three for Warton in their 6-2 win against Walton Athletic and Gregson Lane Wanderers won 5-0 at Worden Rangers with Ben Williams netting a hat trick.
