LANCASHIRE SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE: November 2025 Update

Five wins out of five in our October update has become seven wins out of seven for defending title holders AFC Preston in the PREMIER DIVISION amid a weather-affected month. Irongate sit in second place with Fulwood & Broughton being one of the most unlucky sides as far as postponements are concerned, they sit in third after promotion last season. Irongate’s Joseph Richardson has scored the most goals in the top division with 13 in just six league games, he’s closely followed by AFC Preston’s Saad Abouzaid having notched eleven.

As it has been since the start of the season, it remains tight at the top in DIVISION ONE with AFC Preston (Reds) now leading the way with 25 points from Astley & Buckshaw Utd in second on 22 but United have four games in hand on the Reds. Burscough Villa sit third and Fylde Coast Football are fourth, both sitting on 20 points. Lonsdale Casuals are just a point back in fifth having played at least one game less than all four teams above them and having only suffered defeat once in league competition. Having returned to the division, SRDC (Purples) have stabilised with points coming in six of their eleven games and in Richard Coley, they have the top goalscorer in the First Division with eleven. Joel Chester has nine for Astley & Buckshaw Utd, Rahil Patel is on nine for AFC Preston (Reds) and Jack Mountain has scored eight for Gregson Lane Wanderers.

Chorley Wanderers (Blues) are still top of the shops in DIVISION TWO with 25 points to their name having had all four of the fixtures in November postponed due to pitch conditions as November really has been a punishing month for surfaces. That has allowed Midgery Court to close within a point as they sit second and Greenlands are three further back. Greenlands defeated AFC Radcliffe on penalties in the Lancashire FA Sunday Trophy earlier in the month after a 3-3 away draw. Five players have scored more than ten goals in the Second Division – Charlie Howarth of Parkfield Ants (17), Midgery Court’s William Thom (14), Chorley Wanderers (Blues) forward James Norris (13), Weslie Bajraliu representing Greenlands (11) and Max Robinson from St. Annes Rangers (10).

It really is an open and entertaining affair in DIVISION THREE as eight clubs (!) are separated by just six points as we head into December. Worden Rangers are leading the way with 16 points but on 15 just behind are the trio of Penwortham St Teresa’s (Whites), Moor Park Utd and Tarleton Corinthians. Kirkham Seniors were one of the few teams to play and win last weekend, they’re up to fifth, Buckshaw (Reds) are sixth, Atletico Clifton seventh and Sporting Preston in eighth sit on 10 points. After two losses to start the campaign, Worden Rangers have gone six unbeaten and have thrown down the gauntlet to the rest of the Third Division.

The top overall open age league goalscorer is in DIVISION FOUR with Adam Cormican of AFC Horwich finding the net 18 times in just eight appearances, that’s more than two goals a game for the in-form striker. As always it’s been a goal-fest with three of the top five overall scorers representing teams in the Fourth Division with Taylor Royle of Freckleton (U23) finding the back of the net 16 times and Whittle’s Drew Brindle has scored 13. AFC Horwich are at the summit on 21 points but close behind are both Whittle and Buckshaw on 18. Six points then separate the next seven teams from Croston Sports Club and Freckleton down to SLF in tenth.

Two sides remain unbeaten in league action in YOUTH DIVISION BLUE as Trimpell & Bare Rangers and Longridge Town are yet to taste defeat. Three teams are locked on 15 points at the top of the table – Trimpell & Bare Rangers, Sir Tom Finney YFC (U17) and Brinscall Village U17 (Blues). Grimsargh Village (U18) are fourth on 12 points but have only participated in five league fixtures.

Over in YOUTH DIVISION RED Burscough Dynamo have been pegged back by Chorley (U18) with the Magpies taking over top spot, they have amassed 16 points from their opening eight fixtures but there’s still plenty of football to be played.

Leyland Albion remain at the top of the ladder in YOUTH DIVISION WHITE with 18 points and are still involved in the Syndicate Trust Youth Trophy, defeating Chorley Wanderers YFC this month to advance further. Lostock St Gerards U18 remain in the Lancashire FA Under-18 Youth Cp having defeated Daten Tigers on penalties after a 3-3 draw early in November. They have only been able to play three league games so far but like Leyland Albion, are unbeaten.
