In the first of our four end-of-season finals to be held at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium, home of Bamber Bridge FC, unbeaten Youth Division Orange winners Ashton Town were upset by Fulwood Amateurs Under-18’s. It was a clash between two teams with history in the competition as Ashton were looking to retain the trophy against the 2022 winners in Fulwood. Ashton Town won their division with an unbeaten record, making Fulwood Amateur’s success all the more impressive.

CHORLEY WANDERERS U18 1 SOUTHPORT HESKETH 3

Southport Hesketh returned to the Sir Tom Finney Stadium a year on from having suffered a humbling defeat in 2024. Chorley Wanderers had overcome a very strong Charnock Richard side in the Semi-Final on penalties after being two goals down and gave as good as they got in the opening half before slipping two goals behind in the second 45. Southport were good value for their victory under the Bamber Bridge lights.

AFC PRESTON (REDS) 2 RUFFORD PARK RANGERS 2
AFC PRESTON (REDS) WON 3-2 ON PENALTIES

Having overcome Moor Park United and Burscough Villa respectively at the Semi-Final stage, AFC Preston (Reds) and Rufford Park Rangers played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium. With moments to spare and the AFC Preston side leading 2-1, Rufford pressed and scored a late equaliser. The match went to penalties and AFC Preston (Reds) prevailed.

FULWOOD & BROUGHTON 5 LEYLAND SEVEN STARS 1

Both teams had tough opposition in the Semi-Finals to even make it to Bamber Bridge FC as Fulwood & Broughton defeated AFC Preston and Leyland Seven Stars eliminated giant-killers Penwortham St Teresa’s (Whites). Enjoying a Presidents Cup triumph a year ago, Fulwood & Broughton stepped up to win the Challenge Cup with goals from Spencer Lucas, Zak Deaves, Paul Turner and Leighton Hewitt on a night when Cameraman Dave from Astley & Buckshaw United streaming on YouTube.
